Open **Diagnostics & Maintenance > System Settings > Network time protocol (NTP)** to configure clock synchronisation.

| Field                                   | Description                                                                                                                                 |
| --------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Local NTP server | Enables or disables the router's local NTP server. This does not disable the router's NTP client. |
| NTP servers | Lists the NTP servers used to synchronise the router clock. The screenshot shows `0.openwrt.pool.ntp.org` through `3.openwrt.pool.ntp.org`. |
| NTP pools | Lists any configured NTP pool sources. |
| Use IPv4 for NTP server name resolution | When enabled, limits NTP hostname resolution to IPv4. |
| Minimum poll time | Minimum interval between NTP polls. |
| Maximum poll time | Maximum interval between NTP polls. |

If every NTP server is removed, the NTP client is disabled. Keep at least one reachable, approved time source. Accurate time is required for logs, certificates, and fault investigation.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.eseye.com/hera604/diagnostics-and-maintenance/system-settings/network-time-protocol-ntp.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
