# Monitor SIMs and devices

This section describes how to monitor your SIMs and devices, including:

* Managing alert profiles
* Managing Reports
* Locating devices using a cellular connection
* Displaying SIM Timelines

## Viewing aggregated connection and data flow metrics

The Margay tool enables you to observe patterns, problems and anomalies with your network performance, using a web interface or the [Margay API](/resources/readme/margay-api-1.0-developer-guide.md). You can access connection metrics, such as authentication and data throughput statistics, and display these by geographic region for a specified time period.

## Monitoring tools in Infinity Classic

The [SIM Actions](/infinity-classic/manage-your-sim-estate/sim-actions.md) on the SIMs > SIM List page also enable you to monitor the following:

* [Billing information](/infinity-classic/manage-your-sim-estate/sim-actions/view-billing-activity.md) including data, SMS and voice usage.
* [Messaging usage](/infinity-classic/manage-your-sim-estate/sim-actions/view-messaging-activity.md) including SMS, USSD and API messages.
* [RADIUS authentication information](/infinity-classic/manage-your-sim-estate/sim-actions/view-radius-activity.md) including session timings and MCC/MNC values.
* [NetFlow data](/infinity-classic/manage-your-sim-estate/sim-actions/view-netflow-activity.md) including traffic flow and volume per SIM.
* Connectivity using the [Control Panel](/infinity-classic/manage-your-sim-estate/sim-actions/use-the-sim-control-panel.md) which can send ping messages to the device.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.eseye.com/infinity-classic/monitor-and-troubleshoot/monitor-sims-and-devices.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
