# Migrating your account from Infinity Classic to Infinity

Sign in to the new Infinity portal for the first time, create your password and set up multi-factor authentication (MFA) on your own account.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Your username is the same in Infinity Classic and Infinity, but your passwords are separate. Your Infinity Classic password doesn't change. The password you create in this process is for Infinity only.
{% endhint %}

The first time you sign in to the Infinity portal, you create a new password and then set up multi-factor authentication (MFA) on your account. You can't continue into Infinity until MFA is set up.

You need:

* Your existing **Infinity Classic** username. Infinity Classic was previously known as SIAM.
* Access to the email address registered to your account, to receive a verification code.
* An authenticator app on your phone, for example:
  * [**Google Authenticator**](https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/1066447)
  * [**Authy**](https://www.authy.com/download/)
  * [**LastPass Authenticator**](https://www.lastpass.com/products/authenticator)

   > Infinity sends an email with the subject **Reset your password** from **<no_reply@anynetiot.com>** to your registered email address. The email contains a six-digit verification code.

   If you can't scan the QR code, select **Can't scan the code?** to set up your authenticator app manually.
4. Enter the six-digit code shown in your authenticator app, then select **Confirm**.

   Enter the code before it expires in the app. If it expires, enter the new code the app displays.

Infinity checks your details and signs you in. This can take a few moments. When it finishes, the [Infinity Dashboard](/infinity/reports-and-analytics/how-to-display-the-infinity-dashboard.md) appears.

### Signing in after setup

Each time you sign in to Infinity:

1. Go to [Infinity](https://infinity.anynetiot.com/).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.eseye.com/infinity/account-and-support/migrating-your-account-from-infinity-classic-to-infinity.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
